CNN’s Anderson Cooper will host live coverage of the New Year’s Eve celebration at New York City’s Times Square from 11 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. (ET). New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg along with a surprise guest will help ring in the New Year at midnight at CNN’s Times Square location.

The show will also offer live feeds to concerts including John Mayer Trio from San Francisco, Barenaked Ladies out of Tampa, American Idol winner Fantasia from The Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas, "Godfather of Soul" James Brown from New York, country duo Brooks and Dunn from Nashville , and funk legends Kool and The Gang from Atlantic City. The special will also include live uplinks to parties around the country including New Orleans and Key West.
